The Preble District is currently conducting a training inventory in order to meet the requirements for the Centennial Quality Award. In order for the district to meet the requirements we need to update the district’s training records. This will allow us to identify where the adult leaders in our district need to be trained and also enable us to offer a comprehensive training program that meets the needs of our district leaders.
To get that started, we have put together a training inventory for all of the units in the Preble District, from both official sources in Scout.NET and also from other sources. Our database is now completed so, now I can distribute each unit with a copy of our training records for their unit. The second step in setting up a comprehensive training plan we need to correct our district records. Our information may not be accurate or up to date so, in order to fix these issues we will be having each unit review and update their records. If you run across any missed training that you or your leaders have completed please inform me by including copies of the training certificates along with the training survey sheets that your units received at the March roundtable, for any of the missed training so that you and your leaders get the proper credit. Do not forget to include any new leaders and their information for any training that they have completed on your training survey sheet.
If you have not already completed your Unit Survey; which was sent out, via e-mail, a few weeks ago as well as given out at the March Roundtable; please do so soon. You can also download the survey by clicking on one of the attachments below. Once that is done, we will update the district records and forward the updated information to the council, so that we can get your official records updated as well. Renee Dale

We can cover a wide variety of training needs that include, but are not limited to, Scoutmaster Indoor and or Outdoor Training, Webelos Outdoor Leader Training, Cub Scout Leader Specific Training, Troop Committee Challenge and, many, many others; please inquire for more information. Please schedule all training at least four weeks in advance to insure you get the dates you want. If your unit is supplying the venue for training, I will also need to know if you will allow other units to attend the training opportunity or if you prefer it was only for your unit. I also look forward to getting to know each and every one of you. As I settle into my new position I will be receiving lots of help from Council, District, and all the District Training Committee so, many thanks to all involved for their time and effort. Now, with that in mind the first goal set in front of me is to survey both direct contact leaders and committee members for training needs in Preble District and to compile a complete list of training records. In order to achieve this I would like you to verify the following information via e-mail as soon as possible. 1) The name, phone number, and e-mail (if any) of your unit's current Committee Chair. 2) Your current Pack and Troop Meeting locations and meeting times. 3) If your unit is a Pack, do your Dens meet at different times and/ or locations? If so where and when? The gathering of this information is to complete and update Miami Valley Council's and Preble District's Unit Records, and facilitates the distribution and gathering of information relating to all units. |
